Welcome to the site for digital scrapbook newbies and wannabes!

While this is my first foray into digital scrapbooking, I am no stranger to the digital world as a lifetime digital graphics enthusiast and amateur digital graphics artist. Starting with pixel programming as a 12-year old to mastering the earlier versions of publishing software in my work as a corporate communications "expert", my interest in digital scrapbooking of late is very personal and also very urgent.

Most moms of young children spend the first few years of motherhood in a dizzying array of activities with hardly any time for documenting the memories of childhood. At some point when the children start to grow older, we want to grasp a glimpse of those special moments and we hang on to them by asking them to wait and not to grow up so fast. This is when the mom wants to start doing something with those thousands of pictures she or her husband has taken. This is when interest in scrapbooking begins. Depending on the circumstances of each mom, I find that this moment comes around when the youngest is past the age of two years and approaching the third year. They are past their total dependencies and the mom is able to sneak some time for herself to rediscover hobbies.

But wait, you are still a mom (or dad), so life is still busy and will always be busy as long as you have your children with you, so you need something fast, easy and quick but beautiful at the same time. For the creative woman, the simplistic and box approach given by most photobook providers simply do not suffice, especially when she's been a scrapbooker or an artist in a "previous life" before the children came.

Traditional scrapbooking can be cumbersome. At most, if you're lucky you can put together an artful page or two in a day in addition to still taking care of children. The solution for our digital generation (and I'm surprised it took this long) is digital scrapbooking!

When I first discovered digital scrapbooking after doing some extensive research on scrapbooking, I was very excited about the possibilities of creating works of art using graphic arts and the basic principles of scrapbooking. Unlike graphic arts programs, digital scrapbooking programs are designed to mimic real scrapbooking where you have "kits" from which to draw inspirations. What's so great about these kits are the coordination of elements, design and colors, making the work of the scrapbooker much easier. Imagine using this same method on the computer. VOILA! You can create works of arts in minutes as soon as you learn the scrapbooking program you've chosen to use. And if really pressed for time, there are a multitude templates and themes available online-some of which are free.

Come along with me in this journey as I share my experiences, geared specifically for newbies like me who are confused about what's out there, what's good, what's really affordable, the best method of presentation, product availabilities, new technology, the works--whatever you need as an amateur digital scrapbooker. You don't really want to spend too much time wasted on research. I've done that for you. I will just deliver what I've found, and changes are constantly taking place in the marketplace, e.g. just a month ago, a search in Costco.com for digital scrapbooking would have offered photoshop elements, now they're offering one of the best scrapbook softwares in the market, plus if you time your purchases right, you will get the best discounts like I did.

Let this be your guide and go-to for everything cutting edge in digital scrapbooking. Watch out for my promo codes and discounts for digital scrapbook vendors and providers.
